-For a PC to be used to
access a Network Desktop, it must have an Internet browser,
either 1) Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher, or
2) Netscape 4.0 or higher.
-There is no limitation per se on the PC you use. So 386,
486, Pentium, and up are all satisfactory. Apple is satisfactory.
-As well, there is no operating system restriction. So,
Windows 95, 98, 2000 are all satisfactory. For Apple, OS5,
OS6 or OS7 are satisfactory.
-Some form of high speed connectivity is recommended in
order to get optimum performance and value from your Network
Desktops. This could be ISDN, DSL, ADSL, IDSL or cable.
-The installation and cost for these services, and any equipment
associated with them, are not included as part of the Qwest
Network Desktops OnDemand service, nor does Qwest support
your communications connection unless you are using a Qwest
service. You may want to consider Qwest's high speed communications
services. Visit qwest.net for more information.
-The Network Desktop functions properly if you connect to
your ISP with a modem and telephone line. With a 56K modem,
most applications will have adequate performance, although
you may notice Internet browsing going slower. Qwest recommends
that this type of connection be used for situations where
your ISP or your connectivity are impaired, or Internet
access is unavailable.
-If you have more than one person in your office and do
not have a Local Area Network (LAN) or peer-to-peer networking,
you will have to have a company in your area install Ethernet
cabling and a hub in your office. The hub will connect to
the device that your communications provider supplies as
part of their high speed communications service. The installation
and support of this equipment is not included in the cost
of your Network Desktops.
